First Lady Jill Biden lashed out at Robert Hur, special counsel, over his report that let her husband, the president, off the hook for sharing and willfully retaining classified files — because of the commander-in-chief’s complete lack of recall during questioning.
It is predictable and absurd.
“I hope you can imagine how it felt to read that attack — not just as Joe’s wife, but as Beau’s mother,” said the First Lady, lamenting the report in a campaign email over the weekend. “I don’t know what this Special Counsel was trying to achieve…I can’t imagine why someone would try to use our son’s death to score political points.”
Oh. My. Word. Completely preposterous. President Biden was the one who brought up his late son Beau during Hur’s interview. But this should be familiar to us all; it’s what he always does when in hot water.
Each time Biden feels the heat politically, he finds a way to focus the spotlight on the tragedies in his life and disarm his adversaries.
It’s the shield Biden uses against taking accountability for his actions — a move he has used effectively throughout his career.
I hesitate to attribute low motives to people, but President Biden lives for these moves. Purposefully walking through a graveyard following mass, when camera crews are sure to capture a mournful, grief-stricken look — 100% calculated.
It is quite a coincidence that these images always appear when Biden feels the heat. But in Washington, D.C., you can’t be too cynical.
Hur’s conclusion that a jury would possibly acquit Biden because his brain is mush — a “well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory” fired up Joe and Dr. Jill.
During his disastrous Thursday evening press conference, the president thundered, “My memory is fine!” The Sunday morning broadcasts were chock full of Dems proclaiming how sharp, clever and engaged he is.
However, only moments after Biden defended his memory did he make the same kind of error that has stoked criticism and concern over his mental acumen.
When discussing the situation in Gaza and Israel, President Biden claimed he spoke with Mexico’s president when he had meant the president of Egypt.
It isn’t new information that the most significant liability for Biden is that he’s an octogenarian. Polling has consistently shown Americans from both parties are concerned about the president’s fitness and age.
However, having a report by the special counsel call out his memory so directly might be more difficult for voters to dismiss than when Republican pundits do it. It is also likely to be more difficult for Biden and his campaign to ignore it as well.
If he does have a crystal-clear memory, Crooked Biden wouldn’t be the first criminal to fake memory loss to avoid incriminating himself when law enforcement comes for you.
It did work. The president didn’t get indicted. So…what is he complaining about!?
