Former President Donald Trump sounded off on social media late Monday evening, a day before he will be arraigned in a Manhattan courtroom. He urged the district attorney bringing charges against him, Alvin Bragg, to be “IMMEDIATELY INDICTED.” He also expressed his criticism of President Joe Biden.
In two posts, the former president alleged that leaks originated from District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office and are ruining his reputation. He then said Bragg should offer an “honorable” fix and indict himself.
“Wow! District Attorney Bragg just illegally LEAKED the various points, and complete information, on the pathetic Indictment against me,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I know the reporter, and so, unfortunately, does he. This means that he MUST BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED. Now, if he wants to really clean up his reputation, he will do the honorable thing and, as District Attorney, INDICT HIMSELF.”
Former President Trump is the first former president of the United States to be indicted. The charges against him remain unclear and are supposed to remain under seal until he is arraigned; however, leaks claim he will receive between 32-35 charges.
In Trump’s second post to Truth Social, he claimed he was innocent and said the ongoing case against him was a “mess.” He also called for Bragg to resign.
“D.A. BRAGG JUST ILLEGALLY LEAKED THE 33 points of Indictment,” wrote Trump. “There are no changes or surprises from those he leaked days ago directly out of the Grand Jury.”
In another post, the former president mentioned special counsel Jack Smith, who received his appointment from Biden’s Department of Justice to investigate whether the former president violated any laws when classified documents were located during a raid on his Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago estate.
Trump also accused the special counsel of leaking “massive amounts of information” to media outlets.
“This is illegal,” added Trump, and called Smith “totally biased.”
The former president stated, “Biden is guilty of Obstruction; I am not!”
Trump’s appearance will include a mug shot and fingerprint collection, along with the charges brought by District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Trump’s plea, which will be not guilty.
Charges focused on alleged hush money payment to former stripper, porn actress
The charges expected to be laid out in court are related to an alleged hush money payment to former stripper and porn actress Stormy Daniels to keep her silenced on her allegations of an affair. Trump has vehemently denied the allegations lodged against him during the 2016 presidential campaign.
On Monday evening, the former president arrived in New York aboard his new jet, Trump Force One.
