Musk’s Responses to AOC’s Fit Are Worth Far More than $8 a Month

What a great show Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has been, the best part of it all is how the Democrat liberals keep throwing hissy fits in response to his actions.

The last tantrum was over Musk’s move to charge for Twitter’s blue check verification option. This is a way for users to show their post is authentic and trustworthy. It was reported that he proposed to charge $8 a month for the blue-check verification and some other special aspects, such as fewer ads.

This caused a major meltdown on the left that included people like Stephen King and David Hogg. Hogg got a huge response by arguing that Musk should be paying for his “content.” But others said that Hogg’s content was some of the most “clueless” on the platform.

Maybe the best fit came from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), the progressive socialist from New York.

“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan,” AOC declared.Does the left representative have any idea what “free speech” actually means? It just doesn’t mean that you don’t get charged for a service, that’s not the kind of “free” we are talking about.

No one should argue that anyone has a “right” to a blue check system. If Musk charges for this, he won’t be reliant on advertising and that will help him guarantee real “free speech.” He won’t be subject to the leveraging of advertisers. It will reduce the number of bots and help identify real accounts, and it will bring revenue to Twitter. Everyone would benefit from that, including those of us who don’t care about getting a blue check.

Not only are the leftist meltdowns fun, but the way Elon Musk has been dealing with all the liberal tears has been hilarious as well.

Musk Responds to AOC’s Complaint Over $8 Twitter Fee

His response to AOC was an instant classic, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.”

Musk wrote, “Some noted that this was something like a tax on the rich (or at least the blue-check folks), something that AOC has called for many times in the past, so why should she have a problem with this?”

She seems so up in arms about how this $8 subscription is going to hurt the poor, but she has very little experience in dealing with an actual business. In fact, Nick Arama wrote that AOC was an unpopular socialist politician whose entire experience with the business was making margaritas in a New York bar.

Musk is proving that you probably shouldn’t aim directly at him. He wasn’t done with his first comment to AOC, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.”

He followed that up with another jab after looking at AOC’s website. He says that she was charging unreasonable prices for her merchandise including $58 for a very ugly sweater. Can you imagine, how absurd that she would go after Musk for an $8 subscription charge for a benefit the user can opt into while she grossly overcharges for something far less than that?

It is refreshing to see someone stand up to not only the absurdity of their pseudo-socialite politicians (like Bernie’s multiple homes) but also to point out the hypocrisy of it all. People have treated AOC with kid gloves for long enough.

And now that Twitter is back, thanks to Musk unloading even the kitchen sink when he arrived on the scene, people will have the opportunity to call it as they see it.

Maybe AOC will eventually have to bring down the price on that ugly sweater.
