Dr. David Asher, a former State Department official, said the “lies” spread by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and by China “have now been defeated.”
Asher noted that newly leaked Covid investigation documents “completely contradict” claims made by Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the Chinese government.
According to Asher, the leaked documents obtained by private research group DRASTIC contain information about research inside the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which may be the source of the virus that caused the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. David Asher said in a recent interview that the biggest takeaway from the leaked documents is that there is a “smoking gun that explains the specific features of the [virus] sequence that are so peculiar.”
Asher continued, “The most genetically unusual piece of the puzzle and the sequence is a furin cleavage site, which allows the virus to spread from bats to humans, and among humans in a highly pathogenic way.”
According to Asher, the docs show it to be a “fact that the Wuhan Institute — with EcoHealth Alliance as their U.S. partner — were applying for funding to do gain-of-function research, explicitly to endow a bat-borne Coronavirus related to SARS with a furin cleavage site so it could essentially kill humans.”
EcoHealth Alliance is a New York-based NGO run by Dr. Peter Daszak. The group funds bat coronavirus research in Wuhan, partially funded with U.S. taxpayer money.
Covid virus created to be more lethal
The leaked documents reveal plans to create a coronavirus that would be more infectious and highly transmissible by humans.
The virus, now known as SARS-CoV-2, would then be released into bat caves, where researchers planned to test out vaccines on bats to see if they could then cure the virus. The leaked documents indicate that Chinese researchers planned to inject “humanized mice” with the then “super-charged” virus to see the effect.
EcoHealth Alliance’s Daszak organized a letter published in The Lancet, a weekly peer-reviewed general medical journal, which downplayed the likelihood that the Covid virus could have come from the Wuhan lab.
Asher stated that he is relieved that DARPA, the Pentagon’s research and development arm, decided not to direct funding toward the lab due to “weapons of mass destruction concerns.”
DARPA also was concerned that the research was “pure gain of function—which contradicts Fauci,” Asher said.
Asher continued, “It looks like the Chinese got into a global viral project, which works with this EcoHealth Alliance, and used China’s own funding to conduct the research into advancing the pathogenicity of COVID.
“Now we have all of the pieces genetically that account for Covid-19 being manufactured in that lab in Wuhan, the Wuhan institute by the bat lady (Dr. Shi Zhengli).”
“All the lies that the Chinese had put out — and all the lies and the cover-up at the NIH and others have been complicit in have now been defeated,” Asher said.
Calling the situation a likely “criminal cover-up,” Asher is calling for a formal FBI investigation. “The fact that the U.S. government has any relationship still to the Wuhan Institute is criminal in my mind,” he said.
