October Surprise: Trump Reveals Significant Campaign Issues He Says Will Cost Kamala Harris the Election

GOP presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump says there is no significant issue besides the economy and immigration that could sink Kamala Harris’ chance to be elected.

The White House’s response—or lack thereof—to Hurricanes Milton and Helene has been slammed as lackluster by critics who say not enough is being done to help American citizens hit hardest by the devastating storms. The former president says this could be the October surprise that hinders Democrats.

In the meantime, the former president has pushed claims that Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden aren’t responding adequately because Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida are all red-leaning or red states.

“The other issue that’s really big, I think, is how badly they’ve done with North Carolina, parts of Georgia when you look at what’s happened and Florida, we all see what’s happening there,” said Trump on Sunday to Fox host Maria Bartiromo.

“I think we got a little bit lucky in the sense that it was bad, but it wasn’t as bad as they thought. And a lot of governors have done a good job,” Trump continued. “But the response from the White House has been absolutely terrible.”

“[Harris’] response has been terrible,” said Trump. “So bad that they didn’t even want — I see [Gov.] Ron [DeSantis] didn’t want her in Florida: Just don’t even come here.”

Donald Trump and his allies have claimed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is only giving $750 to families who need relief, sparking fear among residents that if they accept aid, the government can take ownership of their homes. This was after the vice president stated individuals would receive $750 each.

The White House has repeatedly said this is disinformation and has pressed Trump to correct himself.
While campaigning during Sunday church services at Koinonia Christian Center in Greenville, North Carolina, VP Harris targeted Trump, calling out information he has spread about storm response.

“Sadly, frankly, the motives are quite transparent — to gain some advantage for themselves, to play politics with other people’s heartbreak,” Harris alleged.

President Biden attacked Trump on hurricane response

President Joe Biden also ended a briefing Thursday on the response to Hurricane Milton with an awkward attack against his predecessor.

Biden told Trump to ‘get a life’ as he spent the speedy update slamming the former president and his allies for spreading ‘disinformation’ about the federal government’s response to the concurrent storms.

As Biden wrapped up the briefing, he was asked if he had spoken to Donald Trump.

“Are you kidding me?” chuckled the president. “Mr. President Trump, former President Trump — get a life, man, help these people,” he said in a message to the camera.

During the interview, Bartiromo asked Trump on Sunday Morning Futures: “We’re just a few weeks away, what, 20 plus days away, from the election. How do you feel about the race?”

“I feel great,” replied Trump. “We’re leading in all the swing states; we’re leading mostly in nationals, I think. You know, I’m a believer in polls; some of them are fake. And she can’t talk — there’s something wrong with a candidate, but I’ll take it,” he said of his Dem opponent. “But we have — I think we’re doing very well. Yeah.”
