President Biden’s ‘Perpetual State of Confusion’ on Display in Normandy Amidst Rising Cognitive Questions

The research division of the Republican National Committee (RNC) posted several videos on X that appeared to show President Joe Biden in “a perpetual state of confusion” after his speech Thursday in Normandy to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The RNC research account, which is managed by the campaign of former President Donald Trump and the RNC, rattled off several X posts of the president in Normandy. One video showed the president bending down at one point, appearing to be uncertain about whether or not it was time to stand or sit down.

“Awkward,” the video was captioned by the RNC.

In a portion of Biden’s speech to D-Day veterans, he appeared to misspeak while urging allies to support Ukraine in its war against Russia when he said hundreds of thousands of Russian military personnel died in Ukraine.

“They’ve suffered tremendous losses with Russia — the numbers are staggering, 350,000 Russian troops dead or wounded,” said Biden.

Later, President Biden claimed during an ABC interview with David Muir that he has known Russian President Vladimir Putin “for over 40 years,” even though Putin served as an undercover intelligence officer in the KGB for the Soviet Union throughout all of the 1980s.

“I’ve known him for over 40 years. He’s concerned me for 40 years. He’s not a decent man,” said Biden to Muir.

In another video, Biden was seen walking off with the First Lady, his wife Jill, as Emmanuel Macron, President of France, continued to chat with and greet World War II veterans. In yet another Biden hot mic moment, he appeared to say to Macron, “My advance team said I gotta be the first one to leave,” in another video that captured the interaction.

Further questions about Biden’s mental acuity were raised this week

This week, questions about President Biden’s mental acuity circulated after The Wall Street Journal’s bombshell report that interviewed 45 legislators and administration officials about the mental performance of Biden.

At 81, Biden is the oldest person to hold the presidency and has faced skepticism from GOP lawmakers and voters about his ability to do his job. Numerous Republicans and even some Democrats said the president has demonstrated his age in private meetings.

Most of the individuals interviewed by the news outlet who were critical of the president’s performance were Republicans. However, some Democrats also said the president showed his age in several exchanges. The interviewees participated in meetings with Biden or were briefed on them concurrently, including other Democrats and administration officials who didn’t express concerns about how the president handled the meetings.

However, officials at the White House dismissed many of the accounts from individuals who have met with the president or been briefed on the meetings, stating that such criticism was motivated by partisan politics.

“Congressional Republicans, foreign leaders, and nonpartisan national-security experts have made clear in their own words that President Biden is a savvy and effective leader who has a deep record of legislative accomplishment,” said Andrew Bates, White House spokesman. “Now, in 2024, House Republicans are making false claims as a political tactic that flatly contradict previous statements made by themselves and their colleagues.”
