What’s good for the goose, is good for Pelosi. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, faced some GOP karma when a handful of protesters decided to demonstrate outside of her house in San Francisco on Tuesday.
Ironically, these were don’t conservatives enraged at her left agenda. Rather, they were pro-choice demonstrators not happy with her lack of action against the Supreme Court.
Those who gathered at the Speaker’s home accused her, along with her Democratic colleagues of being “complicit” in the possible reversal of Roe v. Wade by the high court.
They held signs that showed caricatures of the conservative justices on the court. And they shouted insults against people such as Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas. He is a moderate Democrat that often faces the contempt of his party.
Over the signs that featured the drawn pictures of Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, and Neil Gorsuch was written the word “Liar.”
These were the Supreme Court justices that apparently support the draft opinion that was leaked to the press last week. And they would be the ones who most likely vote to overturn the 1973 decision that legalized abortion throughout the nation.
One of Pelosi’s protesters shouted that they had gathered at her home because the Democratic Party has as a whole been complicit in the whole situation.
This comment was heard on a video that was shared on social media. The person was standing next to a banner that read, “Abortion On Demand & Without Apology!”
The person shouting then called out Pelosi and challenged her that she might as well have been on the Republican side in the effort to abolish Roe v. Wade. The shouting also included other rulings on issues such as gay marriage and transgender rights.
“I’m here because I care about the next generation. I’m here because this is a blatant war on women and other trans — other uterus-bearing individuals,” other protesters shouted.
Pelosi’s legacy
One person in the demonstration carried a bullhorn and shouted that this would be Pelosi’s legacy.
“Thirty-five years of your reign of terror, you had a super-majority under [President Barack] Obama, under which this should have been your top priority,” the protester shouted through the bullhorn.
He went on to challenge that Pelosi kept these things on the table politically because it was an effective fundraising tool.
The same pro-abortion organization that has been promoting demonstrations outside of the homes of the conservative Supreme Court Justices promoted this demonstration outside of Pelosi’s home.
Ruth Sent Us is the organization that has been rallying people on social media to gather and they accused the Speaker of being “careless and cowardly.”
Ruth Sent Us wrote in a tweet, “The GOP followed a scorched earth strategy with endless Benghazi hearings and ACA [ObamaCare] repeals, but she passed endless bills that lay on @LeaderMcConnell’s desk and refused to hold hearings on TRUMPIAN crimes.”
On Monday, the Speaker of the House offered encouragement to those who were protesting outside of the conservative justices’ homes. She said that they had channeled their “righteous anger into meaningful action.”
But there was no comment from Pelosi’s people when they were asked about the same demonstrations outside of her house.
Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, also defended the protestors when it was just aimed at the Supreme Court Justices. This defense was given even though there is a federal law that bars protesting that is meant to intimidate court officers over pending decisions.
She talked about the outrage over the protests but said that they have been peaceful so the president hoped that they would continue that way.
But now that Pelosi is the target, we will see if the tune is changed.
