Whoopi Goldberg, host of “The View,” insisted that “nobody know” what is going to happen in the Florida election for governor. She defended the Democrats in the Sunshine State and dismissed the idea that they may be misreading the political “mood” there.
The show was recently opened by showing a clip of the debate between Gov. Ron DeSantis and his Democratic opponent Charlie Crist. Immediately following the clip the ladies started mocking and criticizing DeSantis for allowing children to return to classrooms after the COVID lockdowns.
Joy Behar, another co-host on the midday show, went right after DeSantis and his lack of “Charisma.” She said, “When Crist said are you going to run in 2024, he looked like he’s ah — he’s having a stroke, he can’t even answer that simple question.”
Behar’s comments come just a week after the ladies on the ABC midday talk show were adamant defenders of Pennsylvania Senate hopeful John Fetterman (D). He suffered a stroke earlier this year and now struggles with auditory processing. But they were willing to mock Herschel Walker, a Republican Senate candidate in Georgia, asking whether he had suffered a stroke. The hypocrisy is amazing.
Co-host Sunny Hostin has made a habit out of referring to the Florida GOP governor as “DeathSantis.” She said that his performance in the Monday debate was “wooden,” and she claimed that his press appearances were just battles with reporters that were “carefully crafted.”
The new token Republican co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin entered into the conversation briefly to say that perhaps Democrats were not doing a good job reading the room in Florida. She also noted how popular Gov. DeSantis was among Hispanic voters, noting that they even approved of his efforts to send illegal immigrants to sanctuary states.
“Florida is where Democrats may be misreading the political mood more than anywhere,” Griffin said.
That is what provoked Goldberg’s intense response.
Whoopi Goldberg’s Take on The Florida Governor Race
“Until you can say that you can see the crystal ball, nobody knows who’s going to win the state of Florida,” Goldberg objected. “Nobody knows, I mean that’s the thing. I always — I say this to everybody for a reason. Because I feel like it is the responsibility for us to remind everyone that it’s your job to get out and vote in your state.”
According to most polls, including RealClearPolitics, DeSantis has a significant lead, maybe 10 points, on Charlie Crist. Most experts agree that he is projected to keep his seat in the governor’s mansion. Two newer polls show DeSantis leading by more than twice the margin of error.
The hosts of “The View” are desperately trying their best to disparage as many GOP candidates as they can. They also mocked Georgia Republican Herschel Walking recently. They suggested that maybe he had a stroke or possibly brain damage. How do they get away with this?
They can complain about people criticizing Senate candidate John Fetterman who suffered from a stroke in May and then joke about whether or not Walker had cognitive issues of his own.
Instead of honestly addressing Fetterman’s issues, the ladies went after the interviewer, Dasha Burns. Sunny Hostin said that Burns should not have revealed anything that was said or the difficulties Fetterman had with und
erstanding their conversation during the interview. Can you imagine them being this sensitive to a Republican?
They also defended Fetterman’s planned use of closed captioning for his debate with Dr. Oz.
Behar couldn’t help herself, she had to get another lick in on former President Trump as well.
“And also let us not forget that Donald Trump told us to inject bleach when we were suffering from COVID in large numbers. So, I mean, this is a ridiculous conversation …”
