Trump Says Supporters Will Be ‘Very Happy’ Regarding 2024 Decision

Former president Donald Trump said supporters will be “very happy” regarding his decision whether to run or not for office in 2024.

In an interview, Trump addressed rumors of his possible 2024 candidacy.

“The answer is I’m absolutely enthused,” Trump said. “and I look forward to doing an announcement at the right time.”

Trump mentioned the timing of the announcement to be important. “As you know, it’s very early. But I think people are going to be very, very happy when I make a certain announcement.”

“You know for campaign finance reasons, you really can’t do it too early because it becomes a whole different thing,” Trump said.

“Otherwise I think I’d give you an answer that you’d be very happy with. So we’re looking at that very, very seriously. All I say is: Stay tuned.”

The interview was conducted by Candace Owens, a conservative author. Over the years, she’s grown into a prominent personality for Republicans and a vocal Trump supporter.

In the interview, she joked about joining Trump as vice president on the 2024 ticket.

“What a good choice that would be. That would be fantastic. You would be fantastic,” Trump said.

“I guess I’ll take you at your word, that in 2024 Trump and Owens are going to be on the ticket,” Owens said.

Trump tease

Trump has been teasing out his run for presidency for a while now, mentioning it in passing in a variety of interviews and conversations.

Recently, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz made a visit to Mar-A-Lago and uploaded a photo on social media.

“Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to retake the House & Senate in 2022,” read the caption.

A formal run for presidency would open Trump to a horde of financial disclosure forms, subjects he has avoided throughout his presidency.

Election laws would then dictate how Trump could raise and spend money on the effort.
