Tulsi Gabbard: Leaves Democrat Party, Says Leaders ‘Foment a Culture of Fear’

Former United States House Representative and former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard criticized Democratic Party leadership during a recent interview on the “Joe Rogan Experience.”

“It’s very spooky, and it’s spooky how prevalent that mindset is and how many Democrats — not even just politicians, just people who are Democrats — how many people share that position that you should silence people that you don’t agree with,” said Rogan. “It’s such a foolish perspective, and it plays out historically over and over and over again in a terrible way. I just don’t understand why people don’t learn that lesson.”

Gabbard agreed with Rogan’s comments, saying, “I think that the Democratic Party leaders, people like Hillary Clinton, people who have been in charge for a very long time foment this kind of culture of fear and like ‘hey if you go against us, you’re dead, you’re on the sh*t list,” said Gabbard.

“You have, kind of the very loud activists who don’t represent, I think, even the majority of the Democratic Party, but the AOCs of the world who are almost like these radical religious zealots, and they are ideologues and whatever they choose is the battle of the day, if you are against them on that, forget it, you’re done.”

Gabbard has been a longtime critic of the Democratic Party leadership. In a video she posted to Instagram, the former House member accused Democrats of “stoking anti-white racism” while undermining the nation’s law enforcement. She also described establishment Democrats as “warmongers.” Gabbard has continued to be critical of both political parties’ leadership and support for interventional foreign policies abroad.

While 57 House Republicans voted against sending an additional $40 billion in military aid to Ukraine, no Democrats did. During the podcast with Rogan, Gabbard warned that the world is closer than most people realize to nuclear conflict and highlighted the public service announcement by New York City instructing people how to respond in the event of a possible nuclear attack.

Former Representative Gabbard is progressive on many issues and was once viewed as a rising star in the Democratic Party. The 41-year-old combat veteran was endorsed by then-President Barack Obama when she ran for Congress and was featured as a speaker at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Gabbard clashes with Dems, leaves party

Since clashing with prominent progressive Democrats, including now vice president Kamala Harris, and breaking with the party on foreign policy, the Democratic establishment and media have gone on the offensive toward her, accusing her of being a Russian asset, despite a lack of evidence.

The interview comes after Gabbard announced she was leaving the Democratic Party because it’s “now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness.”

Gabbard’s video statement that was posted on social media, she accused Democrats of dividing the country “by racializing every issue, stoking anti-white racism” and “actively working to undermine our God-given freedoms enshrined in our Constitution.”

“The Democrats of today are hostile to people of faith and spirituality,” Gabbard continued. “They demonize the police and protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans. The Democrats of today believe in open borders and weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents. Above all else, the Democrats of today are dragging us ever closer to nuclear war.”
